Bavarian Landscapes 8K HDR

Let’s begin this month’s list of outstanding time lapse videos in January 2021 with a masterpiece by time lapse photographer and filmmaker Amir Kulaglic. Over the course of a whole year, he managed to capture Bavarian landscapes in every season. As a result, he had to edit 10,000 shots to produce this stunning 8K HDR video.

This time lapse video is a must-see for any time lapse enthusiast. The quality and these insane colours are pure time lapse gold.

Ants Drinking Blue Liquid Candy

If you’ve already heard of time lapse photographer Sebastian Skuhra, better known as temponaut, you’ll know that time lapse videos are not just limited to beautiful landscapes. He is best known for his videos showing how certain objects evolve over a very long period of time. This January, he released a fascinating video showing macro time lapses of ants drinking blue liquid.

This video clocked up over one million views within its first week online. And we can definitely see why. This experiment is so much fun to watch!

FJELLAN

Mountains of northern Norway 4K

Have you heard of Nightlightfilms? If not, this is certainly a name to remember! Behind the catchy name is Adrien Mauduit – a French photographer, cinematographer and scientist who fell in love with capturing auroras years ago. He soon turned his hobby into his job. And that means he now travels the world capturing the northern lights whenever he can. Take a look at his latest time lapse video for which he captured images in northern Norway over the past three years:

This video not only features some amazing shots of the northern lights – the close-up shot of the full moon made our jaws drop to the floor.

Vapor 4K

A Timelapse Adventure

Time lapse master Drew Geraci, who featured in our list of Outstanding time lapse videos in October 2020, has done it again. He managed to capture some truly outstanding moody images in Sedona, USA. Using the latest Sony gear (at the time of writing), like the A7RIV and the A7SIII, he captured these incredible cloud and fog formations:

These beautiful moody shots are crafted together by some amazing editing. Very relaxing!

Season’s In NEW ZEALAND

The next artist on our list of outstanding time lapse videos in January 2021 is Malaysian time lapse photographer Yap Hui Phong. He studied abroad in New Zealand and took the opportunity to capture this awesome New Zealand time lapse video. In his video description, he gives you great insight into all the work he had to accomplish to create this video.

This video features some unique shots. For instance, the recordings of the glow worms are just unbelievable. Well done!
